Math 206A: Introduction to Graduate Algebra, Fall 2014
Welcome. This is the first part of a year-long course in algebra. We will study abstract linear algebra, groups and group actions, rings and algebras, fields and Galois theory. The aim of the course is to use the abstract theory to gain an intuition for working with concrete examples and gain experience in understanding and producing sound mathematical arguments.

- Homework for this class will be assigned on a weekly basis. The homeworks are due in class on Wednesdays. The TA, M.J. will hold discussion sessions on Thursdays.
